⚡ Digital Pump: Origins & Influence

Digital Pump was one of the fastest growing Electronic artists on MP3.com when it peaked in 2001. With chart-topping songs like *Atomic Sub*, *Technical XTC*, and *Echo Eternal*, Digital Pump was one of Electronica's premier artists. Drawing influences from diverse genres like Trance, Industrial, and Darkwave, the project blends sounds from classical to futuristic.

Digital Pump’s composer, musician, and programmer is Robert Wright — a professional musician with over 40 years of experience. Robert's journey began as a Thrash Metal guitarist/vocalist influenced by bands like Pantera and Anthrax, but his musical tastes have always extended far beyond the limits of Metal.

Having performed at Los Angeles’ legendary club venues, Robert’s early career saw him sharing recording studios with the likes of Megadeth and Billy Idol at Track Records in Studio City. His passion for a wide range of music, from Danny Elfman and Thomas Dolby to Depeche Mode, Enya, and Nine Inch Nails, led him to explore new musical territories and gave birth to Digital Pump. I guess the real irony of this project was the fact that it was originally done as a dare from his wife Lisa and it turned out to be his most popular and profitable music venture to date.

These are the Old School albums from MP3.Com back in 2000–2004. There is one cover older than these, but I don’t have a copy of it — and for good reason. LOL. It was really a bad-looking cover, and it was before I really started getting back into art. I hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane, and thank you very much for checking out the site.
